I’ve been a trainer at Garage Gym for over two years now and it’s definitely the best job I’ve ever had. For me, being a trainer is about much more than getting people “fit”. It’s a job that allows me to learn, teach, move and play with a family of like-minded people, all of whom are on a mission to improve their health and lives. At Garage Gym we’re building a community of healthy and enthusiastic movers, and I love being a part of that.
Movement has always been a big part of my life. I started lifting weights over 15 years ago, and have run several road races and marathons. I also snowboard, ski, hike, and play a variety of sports. My true passion though is rock climbing, which I’ve been doing for over 10 years in the Adirondacks. I’ve even traveled the country to climb, and have competed on many occasions. Most recently my interest has been in gymnastics and bodyweight skill training, which I’ve been exploring for the last year and love teaching to clients.
In addition to being a Garage Gym certified trainer, I also have a bachelor’s degree in health sciences from Utica College, and I just recently passed the national board exam to become a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant. My entire life has aligned toward my interests in health and fitness, and I’m incredibly grateful to continue on this path with Garage Gym and our many amazing members.
